Saturday 5th was another opportunity for the African Women's Sewing Enterprise to connect with the broader community through a local market at the West Footscray Neighbourhood House - 'Green Urbanistas' World Environment Day Market. I love being with the women at Markets, and hearing them talk about their handicrafts. There is a beautiful connection which occurs because all that we make is intertwined with such a significant story of hope, opportunity, renewal and transformation.
And, our new shopping bags were a great success - sold six of seven! And sold more of our cushions made from reclaimed Men's shirts. We are presented with so many fabulous opportunities, and I look forward to another few weeks of sewing in the lead up to our launch party on the 18th June!
