Think about such things.

I think about all sorts of things. I think long and hard and deep about so much. Now that my study is filled with the opportunity to develop my creative side, to deepen my design skills and knowledge; I find my thoughts constantly returning to be thinking about the poor, those living in the most disadvantaged regions of the world, my place in global issues, and about injustice, hope, faith and love.

I love that I can't forget. In the midst of incredible creative opportunities, in such a rich and abundant country, I remember the poor. I love that it matters to me how my brother or sister is, in Kenya or Sierra Leone, or Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, India, or Albania. I love that there is so much to learn, to discover, to dream about, to plan for, to respond to, to love.

All this thinking reminds me of a verse from the Bible, in Philippians:

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." 4:8-9

Though I think about big issues, and the poor, I am filled with hope. And as I reflect on this verse I can see the value of thinking on things. So here is a tiny glimpse into my world, and particularly into my head.

Even as I write about it, there is so much I could say and so many thoughts and feelings this stirs up in me. I may just be one, but I am not alone. So much to think about...
