Made it.

Ah, it is really exciting to see ideas come to life!
Acting on ideas and goals is something we are really committed to. Why have great ideas if you do nothing with them? I think an idea is only as good as what you do with it.

So, now we will get some chickens and enjoy the wonder of becoming more self-sufficient. I love that when we were in Kenya, chickens were such a great business for many poor people. The difference here is that we get chickens not particularly because we are poor, but because we care about what we eat and buy, and we want to help to make a difference in the world. I think there is much we can learn from our brothers and sisters who live simply and without all our excess.

A big thank you to my husband for his care and creativity and patience in making this incredible chicken coop from mostly recycled wood... and particularly for working completely by hand and not using power tools (*I realise I need to say he used a power drill, but everything else was done by hand.) Love your commitment and your efforts to help make our dreams come to life. xx

  1. Hi Erica! Love what you've done - chickens are great, they eat all your food scraps too so less waste. Looks like a great job, Ben! Hope you are having a great time living out your dreams together! : )
