Fighting.

I fight.

I wonder why I fight sometimes, but it just seems to happen! Sometimes it's over teeny-tiny small things, and sometimes it's about big huge important issues. Sometimes a fight just sneaks out of nowhere and explodes, and sometimes it builds up from a conflict and erupts like a volcano.

Just as there is sunshine, we equally need the rain. Life has its good and bad moments, the happy and the sad. Fighting is part of life, just look at the animal kingdom. They fight for mates, for territory, for their offspring and for survival.

But there is more to fighting than the conflict it creates... what if we were to channel this passion and zest into a fight to create our dreams, or to make a difference in the world. How often do you really push forward, and focus on accomplishing your dreams and personal goals?

Dictionary.com defines a fight as 'any contest or struggle' and I think we underestimate this powerful tool - to fight - struggling for what we believe in, and contesting what is right. As we look towards the future, I can see the goals I want to achieve. But without fighting to keep the dream alive, so often we won't push through and the dream remains a good idea but nothing more.

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air." Paul, Letter to the Corinthians

Don't give in when you feel discouraged - a challenging situation doesn't mean you're on the wrong path. Don't loose heart when you fail or make mistakes - fight to learn from them and put your knowledge into practice for next time. Don't fear a challenge - it is our opportunity to shine. Don't spend all your time on the sidelines - you were made for a great purpose and you need to take action and fight to fulfil your potential.
