Winner.

I feel like I am grinning from ear to ear!

I am so excited that a photo from our time in Western Kenya won a Gecko's 'Africa Week' Photo competition. We took a safari with Gecko's into Tanzania, and it was a whole lot of fun! The African wildlife and environment is just incredible, and the tour was a great way to meet people from all over the globe and to have lots of laughs from our Kenyan tour-guide, Ronaldo. I would definitely recommend travelling with Gecko's if you're trekking far and wide.

I love this photo, and I am just over-the-moon about my prize - it will be treasured:

And, then I entered the Fairtrade Fortnight daily competition run by Republica Coffee and I won a mystery prize... (Oooh, I hope it's coffee beans!)

And finally, I have been selected as a winner in the Moral Fairground 'Show off your Swap' Art & Craft competition for Fairtrade Fortnight. I entered in the category of 'general public' (not as a student or an organisation). This is the bag I entered into the competition - Showing off my swap to Fairtrade Coffee, by utilising a Fairtrade coffee sack converted into a fabulously unique bag.

This achievement certainly hasn't yet fully sunk in yet! The bag has been on display at the Queen Victoria Markets for the past fortnight, and I look forward to receiving my prize of $500 at the upcoming Victorian Fairtrade Festival at the Queen Vic Markets on this Sunday from 10am.

If you are out and about in Melbourne on Sunday, be sure to come and say hello at the Festival! I will be there with Green Collect's Stall, and am looking forward to selling the beautiful handmade reclaimed treasures by my beloved team from the African Women's Sewing Enterprise.

I am glad I got involved and had the courage to enter a few competitions: wow, so many wonderful things to celebrate! I feel incredibly excited and super blessed by the outcomes!
